Custom order: birds camera strap

O meu trabalho tem muitas sincronicidades curiosas que reforçam o quanto gosto do que faço e me dão a certeza de estar no caminho certo. Uma delas é a linha condutora entre os pedidos que me vão surgindo, mesmo quando os resultados ainda estão por mostrar. Nos últimos meses, por exemplo, têm-me surgido encomendas sucessivas envolvendo animais. Embora a minha tendência natural sejam as plantas, não digo que não a um bom desafio, e por isso tem sido interessante pôr estes pedidos em prática. 

Este foi o resultado da encomenda de uma fita para a máquina fotográfica, com o desenho de um guarda-rios e de uma coruja-das-torres. As aves foram pintadas à mão, sendo depois alguns detalhes bordados, para adicionar textura às penas e à cabeça.

My job is full of curious synchronicities that come to reinforce how much I love what I do and give me the certainty that I'm on the right path. One of them is the guiding line between the requests that come to me, even if the results are yet to be shown. During the last months, for example, I have been getting successive orders involving animals. Though my natural tendency are plants, I can't say no to a nice challenge, so it has been interesting to put these requests into practice.

This is the result of an order for a camera strap, with the design of a kingfisher and a barn owl. The birds were hand painted, and then some details were embroidered, in order to add some texture to the feathers and heads.
