Women's Day

Hoje trago no coração todas as Mulheres da minha vida. As que me precederam, que me deram as raízes que hoje me dão abrigo. As que lutaram pelo que hoje é para mim um conforto e um privilégio. Todas as que me rodeiam e me dão a mão, todos os dias, na amizade, partilhando alegrias, tristezas e aprendizagens, e no trabalho, apoiando-me, inspirando-me e partilhando propósitos comuns. Também a pequena grande Mulher que ajudo a criar, e que tem em mim um exemplo e um farol, mantendo-me consciente dos valores que estou a praticar e a transmitir. E todas as mulheres que não têm a mesma sorte que eu e que, ainda assim, lutam diariamente por se fazer ouvir, ou por passar despercebidas num mundo demasiado hostil.

Today I hold in my heart all the Women in my life. Those that preceded me, that gave me the roots that are my shelter today. Those who fought for what is now for me a comfort and a privilege. All those who surround me and hold my hand, every day, in friendship, by sharing joys, sorrows and learnings, and in work, by supporting it, inspiring me and sharing common a purpose. Also the little big Woman that I'm helping to educate, and who sees me as an example and a leading light, keeping me conscious of which values I am practising and teaching. And all the women who are not as lucky as I am and who, even so, struggle daily to make themselves heard, or to go unnoticed in a world that is too hostile for them.
